“Big numbers” settlement reached in suits over SF's leaning Millennium Tower ↗
“A tentative … settlement has been reached in lawsuits.”
The development partner
New York developer Millennium Partners is working with the Greater Austin YMCA to redevelop part of its 4.8-acre TownLake property. This page explains that partnership and links to newspaper coverage of four Millennium projects. Those earlier projects do not establish what will happen in Austin.
The Austin relationship
The Greater Austin YMCA selected New York-based Millennium Partners to redevelop part of the TownLake site. The land agreement uses the name MP Austin LLC, the Millennium affiliate named in the transaction.
A memorandum recorded in Travis County in February 2025 identifies the YMCA as seller and MP Austin as purchaser under a contract effective January 30, 2025. It records the existence of the contract; it is not a deed transferring the land. The YMCA says it plans to sell part of the tract while retaining the parcel for its replacement facility.
In July 2026, the YMCA and Millennium Partners submitted the PUD application together. Millennium also describes the proposal as a partnership with the Greater Austin YMCA.
“A tentative … settlement has been reached in lawsuits.”
“The ruling prevents the city from granting building permits.”
“Plumbing and construction problems resulting in numerous leaks, flooding and water ‘intrusion.’”
“Winthrop is ready for its close-up.”
